Along with the Kyoto Station building, Hotel Granvia Kyoto opened in 1997 as a memorial project for the 1200th anniversary of relocation of the capital to Heiankyō. The hotel’s biggest advantage is having direct access to JR Kyoto Station. Additionally, it serves as a gathering point for other major transportation including Shinkansen, train, subway, as well as city busses. Guests can utilize their time more effectively with the convenience of being able to leave their luggage at the hotel front desk right after arriving in Kyoto. The hotel offers services fitting to its host city, a city of Japanese culture, that are well received by tea masters. For instance, guests can change clothes (from kimono to regular clothes) in a special changing room even after checkout. The hotel underwent a renovation in September 2017, the 20th anniversary of its opening. Now, guests can be fully immersed in a luxurious atmosphere in the new space that has enhanced functionality and comfort; the Superior Room is completed with a washing space in its bathroom and a lounge exclusively for hotel guests on the Granvia Floor.
Hotel Granvia Kyoto is privileged to be located within Kyoto’s landmark—Kyoto Station. Guests can enjoy different views of the city depending on the location of their guestrooms; to the north side is a central view of the city centered around Kyoto Tower, and to the south side is the view of Kyoto Station and the cityscape.
The private lounge on the Granvia Floor is only accessible to guests staying in rooms on the 14th and 15th floors. The lounge supports a pleasant hotel experience with an exclusive resident concierge knowledgeable about sightseeing information as well as making reservations for restaurants in Kyoto. In addition, coffee, soft drinks, and tea sweets are always available. Guests can spend a luxurious time relaxing while enjoy the beautiful views of Kyoto that spans across the lounge.
